Architecture shapes how we feel and who we are. When I found out about Blank Space’s short story Fairy Tale competition, I knew right away that I needed to enter. Calling on the writing expertise of Mark Shyzer, we created a dream city that questions our own sense of place and use of space.

Quote from Strata: "The rest of the city stretched out below her, an irregular checkerboard of rooftops. From this height the view reminded her of a picture she’d seen of farmland taken from above, back when farms were flat. Or of an old myth: that the world was a flat circle on the back of four elephants, perched atop a turtle, which stood on another turtle, and another and another–turtles all the way down. That was before people knew the world wasn’t flat, it was round, and long before Su discovered the world wasn’t round any more, it was tall."
