As curator and designer of the Brethren of the Broom exhibit, I was faced with an enormous challenge: display an exhibition in a narrow hallway that will intrigue passersby, but won’t damage the walls with nail holes or paintbrush strokes. The solution involved the installation of a hanging wall system and a strategically placed vinyl. With the two in place, coloured graphics and hanging artifacts were seamlessly combined to provide depth and interest to the display. After the exhibit’s installation, it was satisfying to witness the engagement of the members as they stopped to discover more about their Club and its history.
