While working on the Remastered exhibition, I was granted exclusive access to the Aga Khan Museum’s digitized manuscripts. I spent many hours with these amazing pieces, zoomed in to such an extent that as I worked, I could see every brushstroke, detailed outline, and subtle colour change. This intimacy deepened my appreciation for these artifacts. The act of looking transported me through time, and as I sat down to work, I could picture the artist sitting next to me with paintbrush in hand, thousands of years ago. It was a pleasure to edit and enhance these pieces so that visitors could experience the same sense of awe and connection when viewing the final enlarged, reproduced works in the gallery. Even more exciting was bringing these pieces to life in the digital realm to promote the exhibition.
